This was a challenging, yet rewarding project. Omne and myself were tasked with creating a new visual ident for the plant based food company, Strong Roots.

Under a limited budget and a tight time frame, the team chose to use 3D scans of the Strong Roots products, which would then be manipulated in editing. Using a mix of Cinema 4D and Redshift, we imported the 3D scans and exported a PNG sequence. Then using time remapping within After Effects, played about with the speed/easing to achieve the desired effect.

The remaining 3D food elements (lemon, peas, beetroot) were sourced via model sites, such as Turbo Squid. 

 

While not perfect, this approach did prove to be a much easier method than to create 3D models of each product from scratch and the client was very happy with the final outcome.
