Spark Media Project

Spark wanted me to create an animation to highlight UK kids going back to school. I created a funky and weird animation of a girl on a unicycle, using her laptop with her cat on the back. Simple enough right?

This was the first time Spark ever released a character based animation with the specific goal of promoting their social, so there was a lot of pressure on me to deliver. What's more, they hadn't fully developed a style of character to work within the Spark branding.

I knew it couldn't be basic, as the goal was to show off what Sparks design team could do. There's also a huge community of animators on social who go out actively looking for inspiration. I took all this into account when designing and animating the characters and I think it turned out really well. The animation is smooth, the rigs are well built and it has that 'Motion Design' feel that the community love. These foundations would ultimately set the standard for their social media animations.
